Shifting Gears

We’re leaving the RV life behind… for about 3 weeks.

Some of you might not know that Nadia is South African, and the vast majority of her family is still there. Her grandma is turning 90! So, we’re all making the pilgrimage back to celebrate this amazing woman with family from all over South Africa and the world.

As much as we hate to leave the hybrid behind, we’re excited to see everyone and to be there for her grandma on her special day. We will be spending about 9 days in the Cape Town area when we land, and that’s where most of the festivities will be happening. We have some day trips lined up while we’re there so that we can get some amazing drone footage and give you all a glimpse of that amazing country! We’ll also be doing family stuff too and our internet will be dodgy, so we’ll try to keep you guys up to date on Insta and post at least one video while we’re out there, but we may run into issues along the way–BEAR WITH US!

After that though, we’re going to head up through the Huguenot Tunnel towards the Kango Caves before setting up shop outside of Nature’s Valley. That will be our base of operations as we explore that side of the cape. Lots of beaches, wildlife, food, fun, adventure, and apopreciating 3 WHOLE WEEKS of quality time together as a family. We might not be in our hybrid camper, but that is definitely #WhyWeWork!!!

Of course, we still have to make it there first… with two kids, 36 hours of travel time, 1 layover, 2 customs checks, 3 bags, 2 backpacks, 2 GoPros, 1 drone, 1 Canon camera, and a PARTRIDGE IN A PEAR TREE….. That part is going to be hardcore! But, it will all be worth it. We’ll have one last video up before we leave and will likely be able to get our blog updated out there next week too. In the meantime, remember #WhyWeWork and enjoy some of these pictures from our last trip back to the motherland in 2011.
